What does the virtual contest look like? A schedule will be given to directors and posted on the website. You will stream the contest (much like a TV show) on December 5 and can watch the entire event or just your routine(s). The contest will end with a pre-recorded award ceremony.
Contest Streaming - Parents and friends will be able to purchase access which allow them to view the contest on a device. Once you click on the viewing link on the home page, you will be prompted to enter a credit card number. You will then be able to view the contest from THAT DEVICE. You can go back to routines in the schedule but cannot move forward.
Free Team Critique - Directors can submit the team video via email, Dropbox, or Google Drive to sarah@showmakerscamps.com. A link to a critique will be emailed directly to the director within 1 week.
Video guidelines: All video recordings must be from a lifted, centered position(perspective of contest judges in an arena setting), all performers are to be in the frame, and music should be clear and loud enough to be heard by judges watching the videos. Many schools have at least 1 gym with stands(or an auditorium), and/or an overhead P.A. system, or the use of a district facility might be feasible. We ask that each submitted recording not be edited. We realize that the actual submission might have been the final version of several attempts, but the actual submission should not show visible editing. Think of an actual live contest in which only 1 attempt is judged.
Awards - Trophies, medals, and score sheets will be shipped to the school after the contest date.
